Tuition and Fees

SCC covers 65% of tuition and fees for every student taking SENCAP/TCA courses. For 2026-27, each student is responsible for $44.45 per credit hour.

If your high school is paying

Some high schools pay all or part of your tuition, fees, or books. Contact your high school counselor to find out what your school covers, then review your SCC account and pay any remaining balance.

Payments from high schools take a few weeks into each term to post to your account. Contact Student Accounts with any questions.

When payment is due

Tuition and fees are due by the first day of class. Tuition for year-long courses is due in the fall term. The 2026-27 rates take effect at the start of the fall term.

Before registration opens for the next term, a hold may be placed on your account or transcript if you have an unpaid balance from a prior term. You won't be able to register for classes or request a transcript until the balance is paid.

Your bill

Dual credit students will only be billed electronically. E-bills are sent to the student’s southeast.edu email address on or before the 20th of every month. If the 20th falls on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, statements will be sent the following Monday.

Textbooks

Many classes use a Direct Digital Access (DDA) book that is embedded within the Canvas course. DDA book charges are billed to the student account and can be paid within the Nelnet payment center. DDA charges are not billed to student accounts until after the class add/drop date.

Textbooks purchased through the SCC Bookstore can be paid upon checkout at the Bookstore.

Scholarships

Students can apply thru their High School Counseling Office.

Access College Early (ACE)

To qualify, you must be enrolled in an eligible course taken for a grade, and you or your family must meet one of the following:

  • Be approved for a federal need-based program, such as free or reduced-price meals
  • Have experienced an extreme hardship affecting family income
  • Be participating in a Career Education program designated by the Nebraska Department of Education

Learn to Dream

Learn to Dream pays tuition and fees for SCC dual credit and TCA courses. Credits earned count toward the 60 semester hours available to you.

You qualify if you:

  • Are enrolled in a Lincoln public or private school at the beginning of your senior year
  • Remain in the district until graduation
  • Are approved for free or reduced-price meals
  • Start college at SCC within one year of high school graduation
